Enemies and friends alike have tried to burn our love to cinders, but through the smoke and ash, the Flame King and I have always found our way back to one another.

When Zabriel places a crown upon my head, his blood and his scent sing of his love for me. All of Maledin celebrates my coronation with the most spectacular Dragon Games the country has ever seen.

But the celebrations are laced with calamity as riders from the wild flare demand to participate, and evil finds its way within the sturdy castle walls.
